ROCKLAND, Maine, Sept. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Redzone Wireless, LLC, a Maine-based 5G broadband innovation and services company, announced that it has completed construction and activated expanded wireless broadband network coverage to 33,000 more Maine homes providing choices for fast, affordable, local high speed Internet.

Redzone Wireless Expansion Adds Broadband Service Coverage to 33,000 New Maine Homes & Businesses - Increases Total Maine Coverage to 250,000 Locations

With this expansion, Redzone’s total Maine coverage now exceeds 250,000 households – rapidly approaching 50% of the entire state.  Redzone’s next generation fixed wireless broadband network operates on multiple wireless frequency bands including FCC licensed 2.5 GHz spectrum, and is considered the largest and most advanced fixed wireless deployment of it’s kind in the US.

The current expansion was entirely privately funded, and represents a significant portion of Redzone’s previously announced 2018 multi million-dollar expansion. Redzone has also reaffirmed it’s 2018 plans to further extend broadband services to an additional 25,000 Maine locations by the end of the year.

Redzone offers a range of broadband plan and price options – including the most popular among Maine cord cutters which delivers FCC recommended 25 Mbps download speeds.

“Redzone Wireless remains on the forefront of fixed wireless broadband network innovation, and we continuously advance the reliability, capacity and speed of our technology and network,” said Jim McKenna, President of Redzone Wireless. “We are confident in both our 5Gx network and the ability of our team to execute on the remainder of our ambitious 2018 plan to bring improved broadband services to thousands of additional Maine households and businesses this year.”

“While completion of this phase of Redzone’s 2018 network expansion represents a significant accomplishment, we recognize that there are still far too many Mainers living without adequate broadband access in rural areas that continue to be exceedingly difficult and costly to serve,” said Michael Forcillo, Redzone Executive Vice President. “We strongly encourage our elected officials to ensure that Maine, America’s most rural state, receives its fair share of Federal broadband funding, and to join our effort to make broadband access a reality for all Mainers.”

Redzone Wireless, LLC began offering broadband services in 2015, and currently provides affordable access high speed Internet to over 250,000 Maine households across more than 75 communities.
